BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Play was suspended in the second round due to darkness after the first day of competition at the Mountaineer Invitational at Pete Dye Golf Club in Bridgeport, West Virginia.
After the first round, West Virginia trailed No. 20 Oklahoma State by one stroke for the team lead. WVU shot 302 in the first round, led by sophomore Todd Duncan’s 73 (+1). Freshmen Westy McCabe and Kaleb Wilson shot 76 (+4). Junior Jackson Davenport shot a 77 and sophomore Max Green posted an 80.
Competing as individuals, junior Oli Ménard posted a 76, junior Will Stakel had a 77, senior Trent Tipton recorded an 80 and fifth-year senior Kurtis Grant shot an 83.
The completion of round two will begin at 9 a.m. on Tuesday. Those groups who finished their second rounds will begin their third rounds at 9 a.m.
